From the four major essays, I learned a lot of things. The first thing I learn is to write an essay in detail and precisely by writing the essay describing an egg. During the process of writing the essay, I feel there are no words that can describe an egg because the egg is so broad, it can refer to many different organisms. So I did some research and found out that there are numerous descriptions to describe an egg. After writing the essay, I realized that describing an object is very difficult but as engineers we need to ensure that the reader knows what we were writing and as simple and direct as we can. Besides, I also learned how to cite with APA . This is the first time I am writing an essay in the APA format. Before, I just cited the MLA. In my view, MLA and APA are very different, such as in MLA do not have table of contents, and the running headings. Furthermore, the design report and lab report, I feel are also very important because I believe engineers need to write a lot of reports and also do a lot of experiments. While we are writing we need to know what design reports and lab reports are and how they are formatted. Hence, from this course, I learned a lot of important things that can help me to become a good writing engineer and prepare for my future.
